It was a week of selling by day in their convention area alongside the regular Consumer Electronics Show, and pleasure, partying by night. Over in the sexy sales booths of the Adult Entertainment Expo it's all about ... well, there's just some electronic gadgets we won't write about here!!! But the porno princes and princesses utilize every modern technological advance from the "straight" electronics convention to launch newer fresher ways to deliver their steamy X-Rated materials (perhaps the CES techies find initial inspiration here, too?)


Meantime those wild parties: The biggest was the 1st year anniversary party for Strip Las Vegas Magazine and JET in the Mirage was filled with dozens of top names including hosts, Ron Jeremy and porn princess Gina Lynn playing up for Howard Stern's TV crew. Carrot Top was among the colorful guests in attendance. And as our Scott Santos Strip Magazine photos show, Jessica Drake, Michelle Maylene and Roxy Jezel were among the adult entertainers strutting their stuff. Over at the Bellagio, blonde beauty Stormy Daniels hosted a dinner party at FIX and a party at LIGHT next door with a few of her porn pals, including Tera Patrick, Ginger Lynn, Hillary Scott, Trina Michaels, Julia Anne, Donna Doll, Nakita Kash, and WICKED Pictures president Steve Orenstein.

At TAO in The Venetian, adult film superstar Tera Patrick (right) got to host her own party at the weekend. She arrived with rocker/actor husband Evan Seinfeld, and several fellow female adult actresses including: Savannah Sampson, Nautica Thorn, Mercedez, Taylor Wayne, Nikki Benz, Shy Love, Gabriela Roman, Smoking Mary Jane, and Stormy Daniels who shined in Cavalli. The group dined inside the TAO Asian Bistro before hitting the club where Tera starred in her own fashion shows premiering her new lingerie line "Mistress Couture." The festival of flesh for the red carpet walk of dames for the Oscars of the porn-business came in all shapes and sizes, mainly 36-44 DD with one hardcore actress proudly boasting 65NN!! Designer gowns you'd expect to see at the Grammy show were replaced by outfits so skimpy, so sexy, so shocking, so scandalous that with freak temperatures hovering below 32 degrees you'd have thought the parade of pulchritude would have frozen in place. Going Britney -- without bras and undies -- this was really standing to attention in the nippy weather. The brazen, bust-out bonanza of 2,500 actress/models from all around the globe was the ultimate in the annual parade of porn princesses turning Sin City into Silicone City and Cleavage Central. Platinum-bleached blondes and bawdy, buxom brunettes tottered in on towering glass and stiletto heels or thigh-high laced leather boots, wearing thigh-high slit gowns or band-aid 4" sized miniskirts with lacy lingerie and lace-top stockings all on full show. The daredevil girls who stripped down to skin had security on them within split seconds to quickly put on something to comply with our tough gaming regulations.

- Celebrities were everywhere you turned at the AVN events. It was the first time that more conventional stars such as Vegas headliners Criss Angel and Carrot Top joined with rockers Gene Simmons and Dave Navarro to present the mind-numbing 116 awards for Best Sex scenes in a multitude of categories and positions! You know how mainstream its become when Eddie Van Halen won the Best Music award for his score of Sacred Sin (18 nominations) which he also co-produced! I was told that although it's the first time a mainstream name rockers has scored and co-produced an adult movie, while numerous rap-stars from Snoop to NWA to 50 Cent have been funding porn pix in the past 3 years for investment purposes!!! Sean Penn and NBC's Last Comic Standing attended the AVN pre-party at Mandalay Bay's rumjungle club and MTV's comedy star Tom Green and Big Black of "Rob & Big" were amongst the audience.


- It was the first time that the awards had been held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center, just like a regular show, where next-up Christina Aguilera and the Pussycat Dolls will play followed by Rascal Flatts in March. It began at 10PM with 100 Vegas Strip Club dancers grinding out the

Luxe Life didn't want to waste a single minute bringing loyal readers the first photos of last night's "Festival of Flesh at the adult video AVN Awards in Vegas. It was a cavalcade of celebrities including everybody from Mindfreak magician Criss Angel, KISS king Gene Simmons, rocker Dave Navarro and even "Screech" actor Dustin Diamond from Saved by the Bell.

In the "Cavalcade of Cleavage" there were the near naked and barely clothed, there were the outrageous see-through and the plunging necklines, there were the naughty and the nasty- and buxom bosomy beauties ranged from 34DD all the way up to 65 NN!!

Sin City became awash in a "Sea of Silicone" at the Mandalay Bay Events Center as the Oscars of the nearly $13-billion a year adult entertainment industry were handed out to X-rated stars in over 110 achievement-categories.

Some early results: co-host Jessica Drake won Best Actress Film, Jenna Jameson won for Crossover Star of the Year, Stormy Daniels won for Contract Star of the Year, Hillary Scott won for Best Actress Video and Vegas producer John Stagliano won for for Best HD Production for Fashionistas 2.

It's not every day you get to meet a porn star. At least for most of us it's not. Just look at this list of talent appearing. It's a who's who of porn, including stars like Tera Patrick, Lexi Tyler, Jenna Haze and Gianna Michaels. Then there are legendary figures of the adult world like Ron Jeremy, Larry Flynt and Seka. Not only will you be able to meet your favorite porn star, you'll be able to preview the latest and greatest in adult products. It's best I don't go into detail, but I'm sure you understand.

Then, after the Expo is over, you have the chance to attend the AVN Awards. Yes, that's right, for the first time in history, the AVN Awards are open to the public. (BUY TICKETS) During the 24th Annual Awards, the industry salutes its own with trophies behing handed out for Oscar-like categories such as Best Director and Best Actress, as well as categories the Oscars wouldn't touch, such as Best Three-Way Sex Scene. Using words such as "most respected" and "most recognized" when describing a trade show is acceptable when it comes to the Consumer Electronics Show, winding up its 40th anniversary here in Vegas today. Yet, the adult entertainment industry claims the same about itself, because it has grown to an annual $12.6 billion business and tomorrow, just like the Oscars and the Grammys, gold statuettes will be awarded in 116 sex categories to the industry's top stars and producers!

Yes, X-rated entertainment has gone completely mainstream and this year, for the first time, fans themselves will be able to attend the 24th Annual AVN Awards show being hosted at Mandalay Bay by three-time AVN Award winner Jessica Drake of Wicked Pictures and comedian Jim Norton.

Says AVN President Paul Fishbein: "This is the only show of its kind to recognize entertainment professionals in the adult industry. We are thrilled to open it up to the general public. Our fans are fiercely loyal and as demand grew for tickets every year we just had to find a larger center with more seats." So, it's goodbye Venetian ballrooms and hello Mandalay Bay Events Center. "The move is an important one as it signals the evolution of the adult entertainment industry into mainstream," Paul concluded. Believe it or not but the press corps covering the event numbers over 1,000 from as far away as Europe and including both the prestigious New York and Los Angeles Times. All a far cry from the original awards back in the early 80's when just 20 people first gathered!!


I stood with eyes wide open last year on the AVN red carpet watching the crazed scenes with more than 2,500 actress-models from all over the world. AVN Execs told me then it was double the previous year's turnout, so I can only guess it will be madness and mayhem again tomorrow. The fans were as outrageous as the skimpy, near-zero clothes on the sex starlets. Call it the barrage of the bold, the brazen, the buxom, the bountiful and the bodacious. Some fans even mounted cameras atop broom poles so they could shoot high over the fans packed six-deep in front of them lined along the 1/4 mile-long walkway of siliconed, leggy ladies. The video vixens tottered on towering stiletto heels in see-through tops plunging down to their navels just about meeting the sky-hi, thigh-hi slit skirts or the band-aid styled 4" mini-skirts with lacy lingerie and seamed stockings on full sensual show. To say you've never quite seen anything like it on earth ever before is still an understatement of description and since each year the platinum busty bosomed blondes always go one better its easy to imagine this year's feast of flesh!

All week we've had stars and celebrities in town for the Consumer Electronics Show, and even Bill Gates himself hit LIGHT for some house music moments. But, it was at PURE in Caesars that the best all-star turnout took place: Ultimate Fighting Championship rivals Forest Griffin and Keith Jurdain fortunately had separate tables, but if there'd been trouble, boxing champion Floyd Mayweather, sitting between them with actress Meagan Good, could have held them at bay! Inside the Pussycat Dolls lounge was burlesque performer Dita Von Teese (below), newly split from rocker hubby Marilyn Manson, joining with the totally opposite Wayne Newton (below.) And in ultimate contrast, Tiny Kiss hosting a private birthday party and doing a special solo performance among the 1,000 balloons one loving wife bought in for her husband. YES, Dita wound up stripping down to her scanties and stockings in the Pussycat Doll oversized champagne glass!

STRIP SCRIBBLES
For the fifth time 'Oceans 13' movie cameras returned here for scenes for the June 8 movie release. Andy Garcia, who plays a casino head-honcho was back for final pickup shots. ... Camera crews from as far away as Ireland and Australia were filming at the 40th annual Consumer Electronics show this week here. ... Donald Trump's gorgeous daughter Ivanka posed for Vogue and our pals at Vegas Magazine for cover-photo layouts at the new Trump International condotel being built alongside Fashion Show Mall near the shuttered Stardust. Brothers Eric and Donald Jr. are part of the local Vegas Magazine shoot.

CINEVEGAS SCREENING SERIES
Funny-voiced comedy actor Bob Goldthwaite will host two screenings of his 'Sleeping Dogs Lie' movie tonight at the Tropicana Cinemas. He'll introduce the movie at both sessions and then do an audience Q&A session as a kickoff to a screening series of independent underground, foreign and documentary films CineVegas Film Festival is bringing to our city. Next Friday it will be the raw and original 'Come Early Morning,' which stars Ashley Judd searching for love. For now though we'll focus our energies on this weekend's other activities around town that we affectionately refer to as ROBIN'S ROYAL RUNDOWN:

We are about to embark on one of the most glorious weeks known to man, or woman for that matter. It's a week that I have had circled in bright red marker on my standard-issue office wall calendar since I unwrapped said calendar back in October.

While the week kicks off with the gadget fest Consumer Electronics Show (CES), it's how the week ends that has me all hot and bothered. On Thursday, we have the Adult Entertainment Expo kicking off only to be followed by the 24th Annual AVN Awards on Saturday.

Oh yeah, in case you haven't heard, this year the AVN Awards are open to the general public. It's your chance to catch all of the festivities live and in person, which unless you're in the industry, you've probably only seen on TV. Hosted this year by Wicked Pictures star Jessica Drake (pictured here and up for two awards), the AVN Awards show is moving to Mandalay Bay Events Center to accommodate the larger audience.

"The show has become much bigger than an industry event and it has been crossing over into the mainstream," said Paul Fishbein, AVN president and founder.

If you're not familiar with the AVN Awards, you should be. The awards recognize the best adult films, videos and performers and the show, not to miss, features the biggest stars in the industry, live music, sexy entertainment and the celebration of more than 100 awards. Even with that many awards, the show doesn't drag like typical awards shows on network television. With awards given for Most Outrageous Sex Scene, Best Group Sex Scene and specialty release categories like Best MILF or Best Spanking, how could it?

There are more traditional awards like Best Film, Best Video, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Director and Best Music, of which Eddie Van Halen is a nominee. One category I'm hoping to get nominated for in the next couple of years is for Best Non-Sex Performance. I just need to get cast first.

Can you name Miss Nevada USA 2005. How about 2004? Now tell me, who is was Miss Nevada 2007? Exactly! Katie Rees (seen here with her successor Helen Salas). And why do you know her name? Because Katie Rees took nude photos before she won her crown. And while she has since been stripped of her beauty queen title, her freak flag is flying high, which may end up being better than being Miss Nevada or, had she competed in other beauty contests, one day becoming Miss America.

If you don't believe that, name the last Miss America. Hell, name three Miss Americas in the last 85 years. (You can cheat by going here for the official list) I could name two off the top of my head: Lee Meriwether and Vanessa Williams. The former I know because she was Catwoman in the 'Batman' movie and co-starred with Buddy Ebsen on 'Barnaby Jones,' which my grandfather used to make me watch. The latter I know because she appeared nude in an issue of Penthouse, which my grandmother bought me. (My grandparents ruled!)

Anyway, Williams lost her crown because of those photos which, like the photos of Katie Rees, were taken before she won it and included another female.

The scandal didn't seem to hurt Williams, who went on to have a successful music career, selling six million records and receiving 15 Grammy Award nominations, as well as a successful movie career. And while Katie Rees is currently begging for a second chance, even though more nude photos of her are starting to surface, why would she really want it? Chances are she'll never be as famous as she is right now, which can lead to more opportunities than having her crown back ever could. Book deals? Pay-Per-View Specials, Playboy or Penthouse pictorials; they are all there for the taking. And who knows, maybe they will remake 'Barnaby Jones' one day and she could get an audition. Of course, it would probably be a porn remake entitled Barnaby Bones, but that's another story.

In a Florida press conference today, as reported here on Luxe Life, former Miss Nevada USA Katie Reese talked about the racy, nude photos that caused the Miss USA Organization to remove her from her title.

"This photographs were from an isolated incident during my teenage years," Rees said during a press conference today. "This incident does not reflect who I am, or who I plan to be. Please believe me when tell you I have no intention of further disgracing the state of Nevada, the Miss Universe organization, or Mr. Donald Trump."

Ms. Rees said she will not grant any interviews until she gets a response from the Trump Organization and her attorney, Mario E. Torres, said that one of the items they are waiting to hear about is possible reinstatement of Katie as Miss Nevada USA.

"I am so sorry this happened. So many of us just don't realize how our actions, even one night of poor judgment, can effect the rest of our lives. I sincerely want to put this behind me, but I hope my experience will send a message to all young women. Please don't let your guard down when it comes to being photographed -- no matter how close you are with someone, how much you trust that person, do not let anyone make you vulnerable. As you can see, one mistake can have a great consequence.

She concludes by thanking her supporters, family, "true" friends and God: "who have already forgiven me and would hope the public can find it in their hearts to do the same."

Dethroned and disgraced former Miss Nevada USA Katie Rees is planning an emergency press conference for sometime today.

She plans to tackle head-on the subject of the sexy photos taken in her original hometown of Tampa more than four years ago that caused her firing two days ago. She and her family have retained a lawyer to represent her and are threatening legal action against " all those trying to destroy her". The attorney, Mario Torres says " She clearly acknowledges that her actions were not appropriate and she deeply regrets them- but it was an isolated incident and long before she even thought of entering the Nevada USA pageant."

I've also learned that when she holds her "meet the press" session in her Florida hometown where she was spending the Christmas holidays with her parents, Katie will refute all allegations that she worked for a Vegas escort agency that hosted VIPs and casino high rollers.

"She is angry and upset" I was told. "Since moving to Nevada she has done nothing but good. She feels totally trampled on. Some teenage frat-party behavior on one isolated night 5-years ago has been exploited by a cash-hungry photographer because of the troubles surrounding Miss USA Tara Connor - and Katie is taking the fall for everybody. She wants to set the record straight and point out all the good work and charity activities she's been involved in the past few years ."

Katie will confirm that she worked successfully as a model and convention spokeswoman for numerous national corporate events held in Las Vegas. " It is inequitable that Miss USA was given a second chance and able to hold onto her crown and that Katie was let go instantly and given absolutely no opportunity whatsoever to defend herself " said her lawyer adding " She has the right to clear her name and set the record straight."

I'm also reliably told that in the last 48-hours she has been besieged with $100,000+ offers from Playboy, Penthouse and other glamor magazines as a result of her being dumped by Miss USA and replaced by runner-up Helen Salas as Ms. Nevada. New from Raw Vegas TV: Katie Rees Kissing Video

After reading Robin Leach's post about how Miss Nevada USA Katie Rees is in a scandal over nude photos, I decide I had to see them for myself. (For fact checking purposes, of course.)

This Canadian site has a few of the photos posted, but nude photos are not nude photos if they have black bars on them. No sir. I had to look further, which brought me to the KVBC NEWS 3 report, which said that the Katie Rees nude photos appeared on the MySpace page for Vegas Arm Charms owner Tiffany Masters.

So, being a man who believes in being thorough, I went to Tiffany's MySpace page. Alas, no nude photos of Miss Nevada. But, I was not going to give up yet.

I decided to search MySpace for Katie Rees. Whoo-hoo! I found her page. But wait, you have to be a friend of Katie Rees before you can view it. I did, however, enjoy her Bob Marley quote, which seems fitting:

"Who are you to judge the life i live? I know I'm not perfect - and i don't have to be, but before you start pointing fingers, make sure your hands are clean."
