Sevendust Goes Topless in Vegas

Sevendust at Vegas

Like anyone needed another reason to hit a gentlemen's club while the sun is still up, but if you do, Seamless is hosting hard rocking heavyweight group Sevendust for a meet and greet tomorrow with Xtreme Rock Radio 107.5 FM starting at 5PM.

Doors open for their concert at the House of Blues around the same time the meet and greet starts, but the first of three opening acts takes the stage at 6PM so that should allow plenty of time for even the casual fan to meet up with the band at Seamless over by the Orleans and head over to Mandalay Bay in time to rock. No word on where the after party is yet, but they're playing in Anaheim the next night in a tight schedule to support their new album, 'Alpha.'

Zero Gravity Jets Land in Vegas And Brittany Snow Celebrates Her Birthday at Jet

Buzz Aldrin and Robin LeachVegas is about to get its newest and most extreme attraction. My friends, Martha Stewart and moon astronaut Buzz Aldrin, pictured with Yours Truly, along with cast members of 'The Apprentice' and 'The Biggest Loser' have been among the celebrities to take flight in Zero Gravity -- the first and only FAA-approved commercial weightless flights.

It's the only way to experience true "weightlessness" without going into space. This is the identical weightless flight experience used by NASA to train its astronauts and used by Ron Howard and Tom Hanks to film Apollo-13. G-FORCE ONE, ZERO-G's specially modified Boeing 727-200 aircraft, will depart from Signature Air Terminal at McCarran International Airport as of next month. Each ZERO-G mission is designed for maximum fun.

Gentleman, Start Your Engines: NASCAR Weekend in Las Vegas

Neon Garage
This morning, NASCAR race fans will get their first look at the new track and pit facilities at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, but LUXE LIFE has the first photos from the private VIP party to celebrate the opening of Neon Garage, where fans are guaranteed fastest ever speeds, hitting 200mph and many more pit stops of car interaction! Ever since the NASCAR crews and drivers left town after the days of racing a year ago, construction crews have razed the infield, demolished the buildings and completed the major part of a nearly $400-million makeover. It's open for the first time today , just in time for the 10th anniversary. (Click here for our LUXE LIFE edition posted Monday this week for the advance rundown of all this weekend's activities).

The Future of Broadway in Vegas: 'Spamalot' Begins Previews at Wynn

spamalotTonight's the night that a gay Sir Lancelot, a legless Knight, a cart of dead bodies, and a killer rabbit may make or break the future of Broadway shows in Vegas. It's the opening night of previews for Monty Python's 'Spamalot' musical at the Wynn, and King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table never imagined in their wildest dreams the zany madcap way they'd be cavorting through a casino with coconuts on the search for the Holy Grail. Theatrical transplants from New York to Sin City have not fared well in facing competition from, the Cirque du Soleil spectaculars and we've had 'Avenue Q' and 'Hairspray' amongst the casualties. I've seen the Tony Award winning production created by madman mastermind Eric Idle, under the direction of Mike Nichols on Broadway's Great White Way, and as crazy and wild as the show is, I predict solid success with its outrageous humor here on the Strip!

Food and Films II

Last year, the Winchester Theater presented 'Food and Film,' a film festival featuring movies about the preparation and/or enjoyment of a great meal. The festival, which included such films as Babette's Feast, proved successful enough to inspire a sequel. 'Food and Films II begins on March 8 and continues every Thursday at 7PM through April 26. Admission is just $3 for each film.

This year's lineup:

Mostly Martha: The life of a German chef is altered when her sister dies, leaving an 8-year-old daughter behind.

What's Cooking?: Mercedes Ruehl stars in a story about how four different ethnic families celebrate Thanksgiving.

Eat Drink Man Woman: A modern classic from writer/director Ang Lee. Senior Master Chef Chu lives with his three unmarried daughters in a large house in Taipei. The story revolves around elaborate Sunday dinners and the love lives of the family members.

The Scent of Green Papaya: A 1993 Anh Hung Tran film centers on a little girl's life growing up as a servant. As a young woman she is sent to the home of a pianist and his wife, where she learns to read and finds love.

Tortilla Soup: Hector Elizondo, Paul Rodriguez and Raquel Welch star in this tale of a retired Mexican-American chef who also shares his home with his three single daughters.

Feast at Midnight: Sometimes described as the 'Dead Poet's Society' for food lovers, this 1995 British film focuses on a new student at a British public school who forms a secret society based on the love of food and midnight feasts with other school misfits and outcasts.

Simply Irresistible: Sarah Michelle Gellar and Sean Patrick Flanery star in a romantic comedy about a clumsy chef who inherits her mother's fledgling restaurant.

The Police Tickets Going on Sale for Las Vegas Show

the police on tourUnlike the on again, off again Van Halen reunion tour with Diamond David Lee Roth, '80s super group The Police -- Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland -- really are back together and preparing to launch a world tour. Tickets for their Vegas performance, June 15 at MGM Grand Garden Arena, go on sale this Saturday, March 10, at 10AM.

Also unlike Van Halen, The Police will not take the stage with bum hips (Eddie Van Halen), hair extensions (David Lee Roth), or displaying the worst case of nepotism ever seen in rock (Eddie's 15-year-old son Wolfgang replacing Michael Anthony). Remember, we're talking about Sting here, the guy renowned for six-hour tantric sex sessions. In other words, no one has to worry that the band is too old to rock it out. They will be De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da'ing all night long.

Tickets for the Vegas concert are priced at $250, $125 and $75, but if you consider the number of great songs the band has written -- 'Roxanne,' 'Message in a Bottle,' ' Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,' just to name a few -- it's a bargain at any price.

Joe Piscopo Kicks it Old School With His New Vegas Act -- A LUXE LIFE Interview

Joe PiscopoA funny thing happened on the way... And surprisingly comedian Joe Piscopo dropped most of the comedy schtick from his new act at the Hilton. This time in his Vegas act he sticks to singing the standards. So well in fact, that even he says, "This is the show I should have done twenty years ago. This is the dream come true." So well in fact is his impression of Frank Sinatra that the Rat Pack leader once referred to Joe as "The Vice Chairman of the Board." In previous Vegas appearances, Joe always let the jokes and comedy setups get in front of the songs but this time around you swear you're back in old-time Vegas! He's got a six-piece band of musicians led by Sinatra's former musical director Vincent Falcone and all people can say is, "the spirit of the great crooner is back in town!"

Vegas Prepares for a NASCAR Invasion, While Bette Midler Prepares to Take Over for Celine

Jimmie Johnson
The countdown has begun for the most exciting weekend of motor racing. It will be three delicious days of NASCAR madness and mayhem. This year it'll be even faster and more exciting than ever before with all the new track changes and rules! I'm reliably told to expect some track speeds hitting the 190 mph mark!!!

An incredible invasion of auto fanatics from across America -- maybe as many as 175,000 -- are headed to town with 2,000 international journalists and TV crews for the pit party with such race greats as Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jimmie Johnson. It's the sell-out 10th annual UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 Nextel Cup race on Sunday and the Sam's Town 300 Busch Series 200-lap race on Saturday, with the winning purse standing at over $1.5 million.

Lucie and Desi Arnaz Celebrate Lucille Ball in a Legacy of Laughter

Lucille BallMany years ago, Desi Arnaz, Jr. escaped from Hollywood's fast lane to the quiet, Mayberry-esque community of Boulder City. With his wife, Amy, he operates the Boulder City Ballet Company and the Historic Boulder Theatre.

On March 3 at 7PM, Desi will be joined by sister Lucie for Legacy of Laughter, a celebration of comedy and fond remembrance of its most famous woman, Lucille Ball. The guest roster also includes actor Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings, The Goonies), and Christina Carroll, the daughter of I Love Lucy writer Bob Carroll, Jr.

Legacy of Laughter begins at 7PM at the Boulder Theater. Tickets are $20. For more information, call 702-293-1161.

'Mama Mia!' Still Going Strong, Carmen Electra Opens Vegas Strip Club and Grand Prix Poker

With all the struggles that 90-minute, trimmed down versions of Broadway shows have battled in Vegas -- sometimes failing in the war -- it's nice to see that 'Mamma Mia!,' which never compromised on its two-and-a-half-hour running time and intermission is still rocking on strong. In fact, the ABBA hit song-based musical just celebrated its 4th year anniversary at Mandalay Bay, and our Nevada Senator John Ensign even gave the cast a Senatorial proclamation.

I joined the cast for the birthday cake celebration at the nearby Border Grill. Of all the 'Mamma Mia!' versions running around the world, the Vegas production still remains the most profitable and the most attended. Carol Linnea Johnson, Vicki Van Tassel and Robin Baxter play the lead trio, and all are close friends off-stage too. Carol's husband, Don Burroughs also works on the show. 'Mamma Mia!' has been extended through to August '08 when it will probably move from Vegas to Toronto with a new show taking its place. For now it won't be the Broadway production of Billy Joel's musical "Movin' Out" although Frankie Valli's "Jersey Boys" might make the Strip this fall. Says Carol: "Audiences love to see the real friendship of our three characters." Robin added: "That friendship is the heart of the show but there's something for both young and old. Vicki summed up: "People leave us singing and dancing with joy and none of us get tired of singing those hits."

The night I went to see the show it was another packed house that dished out thunderous applause and standing ovations for the performances. Abba's infectious music and unique sound are still chart-winners after all these years and the show is still that big fat and adored hit that runs successfully and contrary to all the rules of Vegas theater.

MAGICALLY FREE
Carmen Electra What a unique week for sexy Carmen Electra. The former 'Baywatch' babe won the official divorce from former rocker husband Dave Navarro on the very day LUXE LIFE broke the official news of the new magic show she'll star in at Planet Hollywood with Dutch illusionist Hans Klok. But it's her appearance here this weekend that's raising eyebrows.

You really don't expect to see a Hollywood mainstream personality playing Grand Opening celebrity host for a new topless club, but come late tomorrow she'll cut the bra-and-panties red ribbon at the new Men's Club here which features not one but two top gourmet restaurants, sandwiched in-between the silicone of the bouncing babes. It's a profitable personal appearance for 34-year-old Carmen, who will use the payday for her legal fees in the divorce case. Carmen and 39-year-old Dave, former Janes Addiction guitarist, will split their assets and personal belongings per a pre-marital agreement and each has agreed not to provide financial support to the other in the amicable settlement. A far cry from their 2003 marriage on MTV's reality series 'Till Death Do Us Part.'

MIXED MARTIAL ARTS
Wanderlei
Expect to see another rocker, Tommy Lee ringside at tomorrow's Pride Fighting Championships because he such a supporter and fan! Pride 33 is billed as the Second Coming because its only the second appearance in the USA of the mixed martial arts showdown. Caesars Palace is a sponsor, although the event will be held at Thomas & Mack. Meantime, Caesars the past few days has hosted the public training, weigh-in and workouts for headline fighters Wanderlei "The Axe Murder" Silva and Dan "America's Best" Henderson billed as two of the most dangerous men in the world. Other participating fighters are Hayato "Mach" Sakurai & Kazuhiro Nakamura, Takanori Gomi & Kazuo Misaki. The first Pride Fighting Championships event in the U.S. took place here just five-months ago with a sellout crowd. Dan Henderson won "The Real Deal" and, is known as one of the classiest fighters in the business and a former member of the U.S. Olympic wrestling team.

45-DAY POKER BINGE
First let me advise that Jon Bon Jovi, Big & Rich and Jay Leno have teamed up for superstar performances on April 5 at a charity gala that will kick off the Vegas Grand Prix. The fundraiser will be at the Bellagio with drivers from the debut race event and the monies will go to our favorite cause here, Keep Memory Alive. Now to the cards ... Poker started up in the fast lanes last night when the Vegas Grand Prix Poker Championship began its 45-day run at Binion's Gambling Hall downtown. Each day satellite winners will qualify for the Everyman Main Event to be held race week, Monday, April 2, through Friday, April 6, in the world-famous Benny's Bullpen, the original home of the World Series of Poker. The highlight will be the celebrity poker event Saturday, April 7, also being held in Benny's Bullpen, benefiting Vegas Grand Prix charities and featuring celebrities from the entertainment and poker world. It will be broadcast live at pokernetcast.com. Such professional poker players as Patrik Antonius, Robert Williamson III, Marcel Luske and Hoyt Corkins are already in for the $10,000 buy-in. During the final race week, the tournament will accommodate up to 1,000 players daily, potentially making it the largest field ever to play downtown Las Vegas. The Vegas Grand Prix is a three-day festival of speed and entertainment being held April 6-8, 2007 that will encircle the heart of downtown Las Vegas. The weekend will feature rock concerts, an impressive Easter egg hunt and culminate in the internationally televised 2007 series opener for the Champ Car World Series roaring right through the downtown streets!

STRIP SCRIBBLES

The Studio 54 nightclub at MGM Grand has suddenly become hot all over again, and we've got the photos to prove it. L.L. Cool J isn't known as "Mr. Love" for no reason. The ladies with him love him and the ladies who aren't with him try to be! So he hosted a "Ladies Night Out" party at the club and the women went wild. ... Flavor Flav got a similar reaction when he co-hosted a party there arriving with an entourage of 70 friends! ... My 90210 pal Ian Ziering was at the Magic Johnson party too. ... The night before, Magic had co-hosted another celebration with basketball star Allen Iverson, newly signed to Denver. ... Jared Leto's alternative rock band 30 Seconds to Mars will have the planets all aligned tomorrow night with a party they'll host at PURE nightclub inside Caesars Palace.

PERSONAL NOTE
Many Vegas stars are turning out tonight for my producer friend David Saxe at his V Theatre in the Desert Passages at Aladdin/Planet Hollywood. Entertainer Gordie Brown, comedian George Wallace, and magician Nathan Burton lead the charge with a benefit show as a fundraiser to help battle Lou Gherig's disease. David knew first hand the devastation, as he watched his own father's muscles become progressively paralyzed. Please lend your support so that the ALS Nevada Chapter can continue to assist patients. David's star-studded show is just one of the weekend highlight attractions that we refer affectionately around here as ...

American Idol Watch: Josh Gracin and Bucky Covington Heading to Vegas

Josh Gracin Publicity shotJasmine Trias isn't the only former American Idol contestant coming to Las Vegas. Season one standout, miliatary man Josh Gracin (pictured) opens for Jo Dee Messina at Buffalo Bill's Star of the Desert Arena (which is actually in Primm, a 20-minute drive from the Strip) on March 10.Tickets are priced at $45 and $32.75.

And on April 27, Bucky Covington will appear with country band Sawyer Brown at Boulder Station. Like Gracin, Bucky would have been equally at home on Nashville Star, but the blond hair and twang didn't work as well for him as it did for Carrie Underwood. Paris and Nicky Hilton Ready to Invade Vegas ... Again

Nicky Hilton and Paris Hilton
The Hilton sisters are back! First of all -- confirming our exclusive Luxe Life scoop yesterday -- Paris will be here to celebrate her birthday with ex-flame Stavros Niarchos on her arm. "They are back together again and in full force," one of their friends told me. Then tonight, little sister Nicky debuts her new couture fashion line in a premiere showcase.

Paris' birthday bash takes place Saturday at Body English in the Hard Rock and Nicky's introduction of her new "Nicholai" label is at PURE in Caesars Palace this evening.

Paris Hilton Today, though, 25-year-old heiress Paris is picking up a $1-million paycheck for flying to Vienna, Austria for a dinner-dance date with an ageing European mogul who shelled out the astronomical fee for Paris to attend the famous Opera Ball. Richard Luger, a 74-year-old married construction magnate, has previously escorted Carmen Electra, Pamela Anderson and Spice Girl Gerri Halliwell to the prestigious event long regarded as #1 on the European high-society social calendar! Paris' attending the ball has had European society up in arms about her visit because of the controversial headlines and sexy photos she's been involved in recently. Some 4,500 of the most wealthy and well-heeled aristocrats from all over Europe attend the annual ball. But all Paris prefers to do is dance: "I just want to enjoy the magic of the ball. I learned the waltz when I was young. I have been practicing my steps and now I'm ready to dance."

Nicky HiltonIn addition to Paris' appearance fee, Luger has to shell out over $1,500 each for the tickets, limousine, hotel charges and flowers to decorate his private box near the dance floor! Tomorrow she'll fly back to LA, and then immediately pickup Stavros and private jet themselves into Vegas on Saturday. Nicky will stay here after her fashion show for big sister's Saturday party. She'll display the new Spring line of her successful "Chick" fashions and launch the new "Nicholai" designs.

Check back here early tomorrow morning for the up-to-the-minute photos from PURE. We'll also have a special posting early Sunday of Paris' party in the nightclub and then the unique 3AM Mini-Madhouse that her heavyweight comedy pal, Jeff Beacher is organizing in the Hard Rock's Penthouse bowling alley and indoor swim pool suite! I'm advised that Nevada gaming officials have told Beacher that he can no longer feature live goats and sheep as part of the circus attractions inside the private suites, so he's now checking to see if a lion and a collection of monkeys can be substituted! I've suggested "stuffed animals" as a safe alternative but he dismissed that as not "being outrageous enough."

CONGRATULATIONS
Mama Mia at Mandalay Bay
Happy 4th birthday! The cast and crew of the ABBA musical 'Mamma Mia!' celebrate 4 amazing years at Mandalay Bay tonight. They will receive a Senatorial commendation in a curtain call presentation before celebrating at the nearby Border Grill restaurant. Click here for our previous 'Mamma Mia!' coverage and check back with us next week after the NBA excitement for our photo report of the big birthday bash!

STRIP SCRIBBLES
My favorite diva, fashion model and designer Kimora Lee Simmons winds up in Macy's Fashion Show Mall this afternoon, hosting a runway models show of her latest hip-hop fashions including her Baby Phat smash. Kimora promises tickets to Bow Wow and Jermaine Dupree's concert at the Aladdin tonight and for Diddy's after-big-gamer party on Sunday at the Palms to folks spending more than $150 on the apparel. ... Tonight, expect to see Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony all turning up at the Hard Rock to support former Chicago Bulls player Trent Tucker. It's his charity poker tournament Hoopology, being played at Center Bar and followed by a Body English party with a show by The Roots. ... Our music scene here continues to grow from the strength of The Killers and Panic! At the Disco. Now The Screaming Meemees are getting an international reputation for their mind-blowing high-energy performances. In the year they've been together they've already racked up 80 standing-room-only, sell-out shows. Their "No Ordinary Girl" indie album is already the largest video hit on MySpace. Actor Lawrence Fishburne continues his night-prowls of Vegas clubs with a visit to the new Abbey Road bar at the Beatles Revolution Lounge in the Mirage alongside the 'LOVE' musical theater. ... Star Jones, former View co-host, is in town for the big-game and some shopping She hit Lush Puppy and Art of Shaving at Mandalay Place buying some Valentines Day gifts.

TONIGHT'S TIPS
- It's opening day of the All-Star Jam Session at Mandalay Bay

- Former UNLV star Shawn Marion, now with Phoenix Suns, hosts the Kick Off party at the Voodoo Lounge in the Rio.

- Allen Iverson presents Money, Power, Respect '07 with Lil Wayne and Chamillionaire with DJ Kid Capri at ICE.

- Rap royalty reigns at Aladdin/Planet Hollywood with Nelly, Jermaine Dupri, Bow Wow, and Chingy.

- Boxing champ Winky Wright hosts a Studio 54 dance party at MGM.

Valentine's Day is the Love-liest Day of the Year in Vegas

Hard to believe that our Vegas chapels last year had more than 122,000 marriage ceremonies, and the majority of the ultimate gambles take place on just one day: Valentine's Day. Happy Heartday Everybody! If you're dressed up in racy red to set hearts hopping this February 14, everybody at Luxe Life hopes it's an Xtremely Xciting, Xotic and Xclusive day so may the love be with you!

Licenses are issued around the clock just today for 24-hours and hundreds of happy couples will tie the knot in one of our dozens of wedding chapels. Ironically, bookings for 7/7/07 are already jamming the phone lines and that day may even exceed today's normal busiest day of the year! So many famous folks have been married here it's hard to keep a list but amongst Elvis and Priscilla, Joan Collins and Peter Holm, I think Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, who married here in 1958, are the longest remaining couple. Certainly Britney Spears and high-school sweetheart Jason Alexander hold the shortest marriage and annulment on record; all in a 55-hour span!

Now comes the "only in Vegas" twist of all time: a brand new website vegasweddingodds.com is effective today so that couples can see the odds and make book on how successful the marriage will be, even before they take out the license! A kiosk has even been set up at the Marriage Bureau, just feet from taking the final plunge. Its 50-year historical database also gives romantics something to do while waiting in line for the $55 cash-only license. Nevada has the highest marriage rate per capita of any state in the United States and a couple gets married here every three minutes and there is a 1 in 17 chance of getting married in Nevada.

MAKE-OUT MOVIE

Longtime pal and veteran actor Dennis Hopper -- we both love good cigars -- hosts a sweetheart screening tonight of 'Hoosiers,' which back in 1986 won him an Academy Award nomination. The film, which also stars Gene Hackman, unreels at the Brenden Theaters in the Palms resort to raise funds for the Hollywood Heart program of our local Boys & Girls Club. Dennis, who is chairman of our annual CineVegas Film Festival will chat with the audience and answer questions.

PERSONAL PICKS

Asked to name three very special restaurants to celebrate Valentine's with your true love, I'd have to go French and L'Amore! I'll personally be taking one very special lady to the prestigious Guy Savoy restaurant in Caesars Palace, which has love mixed into every course. I just as easily could have gone for supreme chef Joel Robuchon at the MGM Grand. Joel has a $360, 16-course menu of taste temptations. Chef Alain Ducasse dazzles high atop THEHotel at Mandalay Bay in his Mix restaurant, which is lit by a 24-ft chandelier of 15,000 hand-blown champagne bubbles. But there's one Frenchman who started all this red roses and creamy chocolates lip-lock love tradition in Vegas and he gets a special vote: Andre Rochat's same-named restaurant downtown has been annually voted the most romantic in our Valley. He's also got the quaint and charming Andre's at the Monte Carlo and my favorite Alize atop the Palms resort casino hotel. All have special Valentine's Day menus for star-crossed lovers. Don't forget the "Love Passion and Chocolate" $100,000 extravaganza out at the Ritz Carlton on Lake Las Vegas. It does include a $50,000 Neiman Marcus shopping spree and the butler will draw a Cristal Champagne bath in the presidential suite!!

SEXY SPA, SHOPPING & SHOW
The Bellagio Spa has a "Better Love" Valentine's package and a "Princess Package" -- both costing $350 for 80-minutes but complete with papaya enzyme cream masks, cranberry massage to reduce ageing signs -- and champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. You could have them on your body but probably less messy if you just relax with them afterwards! You can always invite your mate to share with the 50-minute couples together massage for $280. If tempting teddies and thongs, sizzling lace-topped stockings, burst-out bras and naughty negligees are the lacy lingerie on your love's must-have list then whip out your credit card for the high-priced sexcitement of Agent Provocateur in the Forum Shops of Caesars Palace and watch supermodel Kate Moss have a sex-fuelled film fantasy as she dresses her body beautiful in their next-to-nothings! Can anything top 'LOVE' itself from the Beatles and Cirque du Soleil at the Mirage as the ultimate Valentines date-musical?

PRINCE'S PARADE
Recording artist Tyrese, known for his passionate lyrics and sexy sound, makes a memorable guest performance serenading singles and couples tonight at Prince's Club 3121 in the Rio. Then a warm welcome to Louis Prima Jr. and his eight-piece orchestra, The Witnesses, who will now do every Wednesday and Thursday while Prince is away on tour. Louis Jr. is recreating a Vegas tradition his father made famous for 30-years in our early days known as "The Wildest Show in Vegas." He combines New Orleans jazz, a big-band sound with some swing, blues, boogie-woogie and rock and roll! Prince himself is back this weekend and has extended his NBA All-Star weekend shows to 3 nights!

Watch for Indiana Pacers legend Reggie Miller dressed as Elvis Presley during the worldwide NBA All-Star game telecast on Sunday (4PM PT). Along with his sister, TV commentator Cheryl Miller and TNT cameras they will film the segment today at our Graceland Chapel where real-Elvis impersonator Brandon Paul will be super-busy with 75 couples scheduled for ceremonies that are already underway as of 7AM! The Elvis tribute doesn't end there because an All-Elvis choir of impersonators will sing "Viva Las Vegas" after Friday's slam-dunk contest! ... Watch for movie superstars Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson to be front-row seat-mates at Sunday's big game because they aren't selling their tickets which have now escalated up to a whopping $50,000 for anything in the first five rows courtside! ... Sad to report that new Denver Nugget and former Philadelphia 76's star Allen Iverson has been forced to drop out of Sunday's game due to an ankle injury- but he's still coming to town for all the fun.

NEW YEAR'S EVE TIMES FIVE

Every December 31st, Vegas has been the best street-party but it takes extra police and security vigilance to ensure things stay safe. Now we're learning that our police chiefs are war-ready for All-Star weekend as of midnight tonight on the basis that its going to be five-times bigger than New Years Eve. All vacation leave and days off have been cancelled for every department to ensure the influx of out of town vice girls and gang members don't wreck our party. They are geared up for massive presence and sweeps to arrest more hookers, strippers, thieves and thugs in the next four days than were arrested in 52 consecutive weekends last year!

FINAL FIGURES
It was another all-time record year for Vegas. Yesterday Luxe Life told you that our Convention Visitors Authority was about to release the 2006 statistics. They did and it's overwhelming. Last year Vegas brought in just under 39-million tourists giving us America's #1 position with weekend occupancy rates year-round averaging 94.6% and a mind-boggling 87.6% midweek. The closest behind us was Honolulu at 83% and New York City at 82%. That translated to an average year-round room rate of $120- which beat rival vacation playground Orlando with a $101 average room rate! Officials predict this year's figures will be even higher, with 5,000 new rooms being added in the next 12 months and doubling by 2011.

Actress Dominique Swain ("Alpha Dog" & "Lolita") and cover girl of this month's Stuff Magazine partied at the FIX restaurant then the Light Nightclub and finally the Caramel ultra lounge. Dominique and her sister, up-and-coming actress Chelsea Swain ("Georgia Rule") danced all night long and Dominque was even spotted dancing on one of the club's man stripper poles. Meanwhile, rapper Nelly (seen below) has arrived in Sin City for the NBA All-Star parties and his first stop late last night was at the Tangerine in Treasure Island after sushi supper in the upstairs Social House.
